VEHICLE RETRIEVAL INFORMATION

How do I retrieve my vehicle?

  1. You will need to bring the following documentation with you:
    1. Title or registration to prove ownership.
    2. An official government photo ID. Example: Driver’s License, passport etc...

Can someone else retrieve my vehicle?

  1. If a person other than the registered owner is retrieving the vehicle, that person will need the following:
    1. Title or registration to prove ownership.
    2. An official government photo ID. Example: Driver’s License, passport etc…
    3. A signed and notarized power of attorney from the registered owner giving permission for the named individual to retrieve the vehicle.
    4. A photo copy of the registered owner’s official government photo ID.

What do I do if the law enforcement agency has placed a 20 or 7 day hold on the car?

  1. Contact the government agency responsible for the tow to request information on their hearing procedures. You will be required to pay an administration/hearing fee to the governmental agency who requested the tow.
  2. After you receive a vehicle release form from the government agency the person named on the form will need to bring with them
    1. The original form from the government agency.
    2. An official government photo ID. Example: Driver’s License, passport etc…

Apache Sands Towing handles vehicle storage for several government agencies including the cities of Mesa, Tempe and the Town of Gilbert. We have three storage yards for safe and secure storage of impounded vehicles.


To get more information about stored vehicles, use the following information:

If your vehicle was placed in storage by Arizona Department of Public Safety (State Trooper) or Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office you will need to call 480-454-2058 for information on which yard your car is stored at. You will need the last six digits of the vehicles VIN when calling for information about any vehicle.

Mesa Storage Yard:

If your vehicle was placed in storage by City of Mesa Police or town of Queen Creek your vehicle will be securely stored at this lot.
